Other comments: I am a sweet fun loving Bare eyed cockatoo who loves to dance. Turn on the music, sing, hum, or watch me dance to the music in my own head…I just love to dance. I bob my head, lift my feet, strut back and forth, circle my head…I am just a dancing queen.
I have had a hard beginning but have made huge strides in my foster home. I have a lot of fear but am learning that things don’t have to be so scary. Slowly I am being introduced to new things and am finding them exciting in most cases. New toys take me a bit to warm up to but wood blocks and cord is a favorite so far. My cage is my home and I feel safest there but am discovering sitting on top gives me a new perspective and sometimes yummy treats.
I love my veggies and fruits which is new. I used to be a seed hound but now have opened my eyes to a whole new world. Pinenuts and my foster mom’s special bird cookies are the ultimate treats for me. I am sure she will give you the recipe if you adopt me.
I am fully flighted and will fly to the recliner to hang out with my foster mom while she watches tv. I am also learning to step up so I can help in the kitchen at breakfast time. I love company but can get overwhelmed quickly so watching my body language will be pretty important. I will fly back to my cage when I have had enough and need a break.
I have very unusual looking eyes which some people find strange. My foster moms think I am beautiful and what is wrong with being different? How boring is it to look like everyone else.
My foster mom says I have the softest feathers ever and I can be cuddly once I get to know you. I love to preen my person’s hair and rub my beak all over them to show my affection. I seem to have a special place in my heart for men and get very excited when they are around. Women are ok and I tolerate them fine but men…yipeee…I am not interested in other birds. As long as they stay out of my space we get along just fine. My foster home has three dogs and a cat who are not an issue.
