EBR is run entirely by volunteers who help the organization run smoothly and efficiently. We invite anyone interested in lending a hand to fill out our Volunteer Application form to be matched with a role that suits you. We are always in need of additional foster homes for the birds we take in, but we understand that not everyone is prepared to become a foster home - there are still ways you can help! We need people to help transport birds to and from foster homes and veterinarian visits. We need people to host and set up regular adoption events (currently canceled due to COVID-19), as well as power washing cages and building toys. We can also use volunteers experienced with fundraising and grant writing.

How to Volunteer
 

1. Questionnaire: Start your volunteer journey by submitting a volunteer questionnaire. This is our way of getting to know you and your strengths. Access questionnaire here.
    

2. Connect: After receiving your questionnaire, our Volunteer Coordinator will email you with an orientation packet that must be completed and returned.
    

3. Opportunities: The Volunteer Coordinator will be your primary contact for all of our volunteer opportunities. Please read our statement below under Volunteer FAQs about COVID-19's impact on volunteering.
    

4. Bird Care Class: Volunteers who wish to take on jobs interacting directly with parrots must take and complete our online Bird Care Class. Take class here.
